Karen Grillo most recently served as the Chief of Staff for USDA Marketing and Regulatory Programs. Prior to this appointment, she was the Project Coordinator for the Walker Basin Project, and is the former Director of Agriculture Marketing and Promotion for the Nevada Association of Counties. Karen was the Administrator for the National Center for Food and Agricultural Policy, where she coordinated the National Bioenergy Awareness Days and Bioenergy/Biofuels Summit. She has served as the Nevada State Executive Director for the USDA Farm Service Agency. Previously she worked as Rural Coordinator for U.S. Senator Harry Reid with responsibility for constituent services in 12 Nevada Rural Counties. She has served as a member of Dean’s Advisory Board-UNR College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources; a former member of the Board of Directors for the Western Rural Development Center; and Past Chairman of the Carson City Library Board of Trustees. Ms. Grillo is a co-founder of the Nevada Rural Development Council, and has assisted through the years with many aspects of agriculture, energy, and economic development in order to sustain the quality of life in rural America.
